This couple....this location...that light! I absolutely loved working on this entire session.
Toni-Ann and Bobby are just the sweetest most in love couple. They are going to be exceptional parents.
Collecting peacock feathers, exploring and watching horses....that's what great family sessions are made of.
Sometimes you find love when you least expect it. For these two, that is more than true. They met later in life and neither expected to ever get married again. But, after he was there for her in the hardest moments of her life, she knew he was the one all along. These two are so in love and compliment each other in the most perfect way possible.
They tied the know in their rose filled backyard with babies breath garland hanging form their outdoor mantel. Their little dog, Greta was the maid of honor and their only guests were their two best friends who flew in from Florida.
The ceremony was heart felt and filled with tears, performed by a pastor whom she has know for years.
After, the left for an Alaskan cruise in search of their favorite animal, a moose.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Huitt! I wish you nothing but love and happiness.
Last year was the hardest year on record for my family. We experienced lows that we never thought we would and somehow survived. This year has been a rebuilding year full of tons of hard work. Working as much as possible and learning to live a more simplified life.
We had our first vacation in two years last week. We stayed at a kid friendly resort in Palm Springs. Which may I add happened to be the hottest area in the country while we were there. OMG! 122 degrees is not fun!! We spent our days lounging by the pool and napping in the cool a/c.
On our way home, we made a little detour to Joshua Tree. Neither of us had ever been and had always been intrigued by its beauty. Our kids absolutely loved it there! They were climbing rocks and exploring all over in the 97 degree heat. They even made a 2.6 mile hike just to see the dried up Barker Dam. They were total troopers.
I spent the whole time taking pictures of course. Most of them were taken on film which but, some on digital.
I fell in love with the raw beauty of Joshua Tree and can totally see how this place inspired U2 (my fav band btw) to name one of their albums after it. Its just breathtaking. I absolutely cannot wait to go back.

Last week I got to spend the afternoon with one of the funnest families I have ever met. They spent their time running from waves, having sea foam fights, climbing rocks, and exploring the creatures at the edge of the sea. I just sat back and documented it all.
The Murphy's were here in California on vacation from Chicago and wanted to have some fun family photos taken in iconic Laguna Beach.
